Morning Star Baptist Church Presents Plaques of Appreciation to First Responders and The City

54

On June 28, 2022, at 11:00 AM in the Council Chambers of the Weirton Municipal Building, Morning Star Baptist Church will present Plaques of Appreciation to those individuals who risk their lives to serve and protect the communities of Weirton, WV. First Responders always answer emergency calls, and yet we forget how central they are to our lives. While most people run from danger, First Responders run to danger. They sacrifice their own health and safety to take care of others. During the COVID19 Pandemic, their light became visible to the world.  They selflessly and fearlessly continued to dedicate their lives to ensure the well-being of all citizens.  First Responders are our heroes. We are deeply grateful for all they do. Therefore, we proudly present these Plaques of Appreciation to Police Chief Walter Charles Kush and the City of Weirton Police Department, and to Fire Chief Kevin Himmelrick and the City of Weirton Fire Department.

In addition, we proudly present a Plaque of Appreciation to Mayor Harold “Bubba” Miller and his staff for their essential support of the Health Fair for the Upper Ohio Valley. The Health Fair provided a variety of screenings and health information by 78 Vendors and was well attended by the public. The theme spoke to the needs of the people: “Better Informed - Better Health - Better Living”.   The Health Fair was hosted by Morning Star Baptist Church, Rev. James E. Brown, Pastor; Health Fair Chairperson, B.J. Bryant, RN.
