The Bethany College men's soccer team traveled to Case Western Reserve University for a non-conference match Wednesday evening. The Spartans handed the Bison their first loss of the season, 3-1.
THE HIGHLIGHTS
- CWRU took a 1-0 lead off of a corner kick at the 14:28 mark of the first half.
- A few minutes later, the Bison capitalized on a corner kick when Fausto Gionchetti found Valentin Ursino to tie the score at 1-1.
- The Spartans took a 2-1 advantage into the halftime break after scoring at the 37:03 mark.
- The Spartans added their third goal in the 64th minute of the game.
- The Spartans held a shot advantage over the Bison, 16-6. It was the first time this season that the Bison trailed and were outshot.
- The Bison and Spartans were almost even on corner kicks with CWRU taking a 5-4 advantage.

The Bison will return to the pitch on Saturday, Sept. 10 when they travel to Marietta College for a non-conference contest beginning at 4 pm.
