The Bethany College women's soccer team opened up Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) play at home against Allegheny College on Wednesday afternoon.
THE HIGHLIGHTS
- Allegheny took a 1-0 lead over the Bison in the 28th minute after a Gators corner kick.
- In the 39th minute, the Gators doubled their lead and held the lead into the halftime break.
- In the second half, the Bison battled to find the back of the net in the 89th minute. Monica Bird found a cutting Jada Benjamin, to cut the Gators' lead in half.
- The Gators held the shot advantage, 23-21 and edged the Bison 6-5 on corner kicks.
- Both teams were even with 9 saves apiece.
- Tonight's match against Allegheny was the first match since 1983.
- Freshman goalkeeper, Alessandra Ferrazzano had nine saves in her first start in a Bison uniform.

Bethany returns to the pitch on Saturday, Sept. 24 when they travel to Bluffton for a non-conference tilt for a 3 pm start.
